Back from Toronto

How was it? Just fantastic!  Patricia King, Bill Johnson and the leaders at Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship are just wonderful teachers who carry such anointing and impartation.  The worship was great, we saw numerous very evident healings as well as a gold tooth and we met some great new friends among the 2000 pastors and leaders there - but best of all is the tangible presence of God - you can feel it!  It rubs off on you as you 'soak' in the atmosphere - I can still feel it - it's living water - it bubbles up and continues to bubble up.  John and Carol Arnott have facilitated revival at TACF for 14 years now (Dave and I flew out on the 14th anniversary) - that's a long time by revival standards and I put it down to 2 things:

  • Their humility and gentleness and desire to not control or possess what God is doing
  • Their desire to give it away - both in Toronto (3 million visitors since 1994) and around the world (teams visit those countries where folk cannot afford to go to Canada

God has honoured them.

We also had a day with our Canadian friends Bill and Sue - they took us to Niagara -which was spectacular in all the ice and snow (usual max day time temp was -5o C) - then back to their house to eat and pray - that was a blessing too!  We also got to see my cousin David and his fiancé Dora on Monday at their
apartment 27 P1230039 floors up in the city and went with them to the revolving restaurant in the CN tower for a final meal.

Do see Dave's blog for some photos and humorous account of each day!

What can we expect in 2008?

I believe 2008 will be a year for increasing intimacy with God as we learn to abide in him and come into that place of rest. The key chapter for 2008 is John 15. God, more than ever, is looking for friends (John 15.15). The implication of these verses is that a servant ‘second guesses’ and does what he thinks his master would want but a friend takes time to listen to exactly what his master and friend is saying. Such friends of God will see amazing things in response to prayers (v16) and reap a great harvest in 2008 (v5) – In the Old Testament the book of Esther reveals a similar theme. Esther spent 12 months soaking in beauty treatments before she could come into the place of intimacy with the King – 6 months with myrrh (which represents dying to self) and 6 months with perfumes (which speaks of the fragrant life) in order to come into the place of intimacy. It was only from that place that she could then boldly approach the King in his judgement chamber and find mercy and grace extended towards her and to hear the King say, “What is it, Queen Esther? What is your request? Even up to half the kingdom, it will be given you.”

So yes in 2008 I believe the Lord wants to take us into the place of intimacy/rest/abiding - into friendship - there will be increased revelation and third heaven encounters in that place.  We will see more manifestations of the supernatural (including the counterfeit) and an increase in the harvest.

Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever. (Daniel 12 v3)
